If you have moved, changed your name, or have not voted in several years, do this first — it takes about ten minutes.
Step 1 of 4
Can you register in Pennsylvania?
Three questions. There are no wrong answers here.
Registering in Pennsylvania: the basics
- Who can register
- You can register if, by Election Day (Tuesday, November 3), you will have been a U.S. citizen for at least one month, will have lived at your Pennsylvania address for at least 30 days, and will be at least 18 years old.
- What ID you need
- Your PA driver’s license or PennDOT ID number if you have one. If not, the last four digits of your Social Security number — and you’ll also need to give a signature, by uploading a picture of it or mailing a signed form. No Social Security number either? Use the paper registration form.
- The deadline
- Register by Monday, October 19 to vote in the November 3, 2026 General Election.
- After you register
- Your county election office processes your application. Give it about two weeks, then check your registration status. Voting by mail is a separate application — request a mail ballot.
